Meet Our Founder

Hi! I’m Sunny, the founder of Bridge & Bloom Foundation. I grew up in a dual language program, where I learned to read, write, and communicate in both English and Spanish. Being part of a dual language classroom showed me how language can bring people together and open doors to new opportunities. The idea for Bridge & Bloom Foundation began during a high school project that brought me back to a dual language elementary classroom. Spending time with the students, reading with them, and seeing how excited they were to learn reminded me of my own experience. I realized how much I loved working with children and wanted to continue making a difference beyond that project. Why I Started Bridge & Bloom Foundation Growing up in a dual language program shaped who I am, and I wanted to give back to the community that gave me so much. I know that learning two languages can be challenging, but it is also an incredible strength. Bridge & Bloom Foundation was created to support students in dual language classrooms by providing literacy opportunities, mentorship, and encouragement. Through classroom volunteering, reading with students, and sharing original bilingual children’s books, we hope to build bridges for children who are still developing confidence in English or Spanish.
